History
The band released their debut EP, Bretton via Thirty Days of Night Records on 19 December 2008.This release took on a hardcore punksound which all but disappeared from the band's music after the release of Far Q. They recorded their next release and first full-length album, Far Q, with Daniel Lancaster (of Hertfordshire band Proceed) at Studio Glasseye in Hatfield, England. It was released in March 2010 on A Wolf at Your Door Records in the UK, under the Distort Entertainment label in Canada and for rest of Europe under Redfield Records on limited Mediabook-CD and limited white vinyl. This release retained some element of the band's punk roots whilst gearing itself more towardspost-hardcore/melodic hardcore influences.
On 29 April 2014, the band announced through their Facebook and Twitter pages that they had signed to Sony Records and that their new album would be released via the label.
Duce and Thrower worked with Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer. Duce co-wrote and contributed to vocal production for their song "Heartache On the Big Screen" which appears as a b-side on "She Looks So Perfect". Thrower contributed to additional production and programming for the songs "Don't Stop" and "If You Don't Know".
On 2 June 2014, Lower Than Atlantis announced via Twitter that their upcoming 4th album would be self-titled, they also set a release date of 29 September 2014 and announced they would be doing a July tour.
